Please note that, by law, a
child must start full time attendance at school at the start of
the term that follows their fifth birthday. West Sussex
schools offer the earlier starting dates listed above, but there
is no obligation for parents to send their children to school so
young.
Reception children and their
parents are invited to visit during the term before the children
start school, at agreed times.
Reception children do not
usually start school on the very first day of term, but a few
days later when the older pupils have settled. All the details
about visits, starting dates, times, etc, are sent to parents in
good time, and discussed at a meeting when questions can be
asked and answered. We hope you will tell us all about your
child so that we quickly learn to understand her/him and can
avoid problems in the early days.
Above all, we hope that you and your child will be happy with the school,
and that the early days will be successful and enjoyable for us
all. |
